Setting up SF Conversion
Setting Up SF (Square Feet) Conversion for Saleable Units in Odoo
This setup will enable automatic conversion between square feet (SF) and different saleable units, like pallets or individual pieces, based on their size relative to 1 SF on a sale order.
Overview of SF Conversion Using Unit of Measure
-
Base Unit of Measure: The base unit is set to 1 SF (one square foot).
-
Conversion Ratios: The ratio shows how many square feet the unit covers, for example:
-
A "110 SF Pallet" unit of measure has a ratio of 110 bigger than reference, meaning it’s 110 times larger than 1 SF.
-
A "6X6 piece" unit of measure is 1/4 of a SF, its ratio would be 4 smaller than the reference, meaning it’s smaller than 1 SF.
Based on the unit of measure set up and application of the unit of measure to a product, on a sale order the user can:
- Enter the amount of SF that the customer request
- Set a quantity and view the amount of SF that relates to the quantity
