Importing Product Packaging

Packaging Import

The below process can be used to add packaging to products after initially bringing them into Odoo.

1. In Products -> Product Variants, select the products which you would like to add packaging to.

2. Click on Actions -> Export

3. Select the template 'Packaging Import'

4. Check the field 'I want to update data'

5. Click on Export

6. Open the exported spreadsheet

7. Fill in package information

packaging_ids/name - The name that you would like to call the package.

packaging_ids/qty - How many units belong in that package.

8. To add multiple packages to a product, insert extra rows into the sheet and add the packaging in those lines.

Note that the packaging will apply to the product directly above the packaging line.

9. After filling in the sheet, save the file and import it (see below).

10. Click on Product -> Product Variants -> 'Import Records'

11. Click on Upload File

12. Remove the line 'Variant Values' from the import.

This line was exported to allow easy identification of the products, but will create a conflict if import is attempted.

13. Click on 'Test' to confirm that the import will work.

14. After getting 'Everything seems valid', Click on 'Import' to complete the packaging import.
